Tech entrepreneur and influencer Alfonso Cobo, the co-founder of Unfold and Hypelist, is about to put his gut-renovated Tribeca loft on the market for $6.99 million.
The exquisite duplex is at 415 Washington St., better known as the Fairchild.
It comes with two terraces, a fireplace, dramatic 21-foot-high ceilings and double-height arched windows.
Cobo made his name co-founding Unfold, a mobile app that helps users create Instagram stories popularized by celebs including Kim Kardashian, Selena Gomez, Mariah Carey, the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus; Unfold also partnered with Equinox and Tommy Hilfiger.
By 2019, Squarespace bought the app, which had grown to 16 million users.
Trained as an architect, the Spanish-born entrepreneur worked with interior designer Helena Clunies-Ross to gut renovate the space, whose images look straight out of a design magazine.
That said, it was featured in Architectural Digest and practically screams “quiet luxury.”
Cobo paid $4.6 million for the dwelling in 2022 — 8% over its asking price, which was $4.25 million, and then invested in the gut reno.
The home is currently configured as a one-bedroom bachelor pad — complete with a custom couch where friends come to hang and play video games, Cobo explained on his YouTube video home tour. However, the loft can also convert back to its former three-bedroom, three-bathroom layout.
The soothing tones and detail create a Zen-like respite from the city. The neutral-color scheme is soothing, while the dark grey-painted ceilings bring a sense of peace, Cobo said.
The home opens from a key-locked elevator into a great room with a 16-foot olive tree, a custom 20-foot bronze patina bookcase, a fireplace and the double-height arched windows with stained American white oak screens.
There’s a column in black oak that anchors the chef’s kitchen, with marble countertops and lime-washed walls along with a hidden pantry for storage under the stairs.
The lower level also features a study with a custom walnut bookcase and workstation, silk wallpaper, a bespoke Helena Clunies-Ross Design sofa, reach-in closets and a terrace with planters.
The upper level boasts the primary suite with a king-size bedroom, a windowed walk-in closet that is like a boutique, a private terrace and an ensuite spa-like bath. The loft also comes with a washer/dryer, a separate storage room and light oak floors.
It’s all in a former 19th-century warehouse, with doormen, a live-in super, bike room and storage.
The listing brokers are Brandon and Mallory Bogard of Serhant.
