The most expensive house to ever be sold at auction is off the market.

The famously expensive Villa Firenze in Beverly Hills sold at an online auction (pending) on February 2 for an undisclosed price. The 13-bedroom, 17-bathroom, eight-powder room mansion at 67 Beverly Park Court was first listed for $165 million in 2017.

“When closed, the sale will mark the highest price ever achieved at auction for a single-family home,” said a press release by Concierge Auctions, which organized the auction.

The sale drew more than 33,000 views from 170 countries, including the US, Canada, Netherlands, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Spain, Belgium, Austria and Germany. There were more than 1,800 “prospects” and 31 showings. Final bids came from the US and China, according to the press release.

The home boasts a grand foyer, a dining room, a family room, a living room, a great room, a pantry room, a gym, a home theater, a walk-in pantry, a wine cellar, a bar, a library, a breakfast area, a den, maids’ quarters, an in-law suite and an owner’s bedroom.

The auction was a gutsy move for seller Steven Udvar-Házy, the billionaire executive chairman of the board of Air Lease Corporation. Selling at auction is a gamble since a favorable outcome isn’t guaranteed, but Udvar-Házy has been trying to dump this property for years and was unable to find a buyer.

“Not every seller has the risk tolerance to let the market speak, and it paid off in folds for our client,” said Concierge Auctions chairman Chad Roffers in the press release.

The final sale price is unknown, but it will be somewhere upwards of $50 million, the previous record price for a property sold at auction. Experts estimated the sale would gross a maximum of $90 million, according to Realtor.com. The sale required a $100,000 deposit from the bidder, according to Concierge Auctions.
