“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” cast and crew gathered around Cole Porter’s iconic Steinway piano on June 12 for knock-out performances celebrating the music of the award-winning show throughout its five seasons — at the residential gallery of the Towers of the Waldorf Astoria

Performers included Maisel cast member Emily BerglDarius de HaasMegan McGinnisOrville Mendoza, and Ross Lekites, accompanied by the Emmy-nominated composers for “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” Thomas Mizer and Curtis Moore.

The fifth and final season’s album was even released on June 9, Porter’s birthday. As one of the Waldorf Astoria’s most famous residents, Porter wrote many of his acclaimed songs on the 1907 Steinway piano, which will return to the hotel when it reopens in late 2024.

The show’s album also includes “I Wanna Be Around,” recorded in 1963 by Tony Bennett, who often performed at the Waldorf Astoria and recently became the second-oldest Grammy winner for “Love for Sale,” his collaboration of Porter standards with Lady Gaga.

The Towers’ current most-expensive unit is an $18.5 million, four-bedroom residence.

But that will soon be dwarfed by the two penthouses in the copper cupolas that will hit the market soon at “record breaking” prices, a source said.
